I believe that traveling and living in other countries and cultures allows us to get a bigger vision of our world, its peoples and…ourselves. I have studied in Mexico and taught in Bolivio, Morocco, Egypt, and picked up odd jobs here and there (picking grapes in France, helping a Hungarian rock singer polish his Engish lyrics (before the Berlin Wall came down) while backpacking around the world.

Most of all, I have tried to share this passion with my sons. As soon as they were old enough to put up their tents, I drove them for a summer in Alaska and the next throughout Mexico. I think they both have a much better understanding of the world they live in.

I like to think I can do something to encourage other parents who might want to try something a bit different.
